interactive sound installation, 2008

Radio Box is an interactive sound installation based on radio broadcast, considered from a social and historical point of view as a repository of collective sonic memories.  The interface is a radio receiver retrofitted with an Arduino board. The composition is generated by a software drawing on an archive of recordings of radio programmes.  The installation offers a jurney into radio sound, reconsidering the role of old techology and questioning common assumptions regarding the boundaries of music and information, technology and art.
